Do chapter dues include membership in the national organization, NARGS?

While the Wisconsin-Illinois chapter is affiliated with the North American Rock Garden Society the dues are separate. Chapters receives certain benefits from the affiliation. National provides its chapters with national and international speakers we could not afford on our own. The chapter does not pay for this affiliation but in order to participate in NARGS activities individuals must pay NARGS membership dues. Find out more about NARGS here.

Why should I join NARGS National?

Membership supports the primary mission of NARGS, to promote the knowledge and appreciation of rock gardening. NARGS provides these member benefits: participation in the annual seed exchange (with thousands species, many not commercially available), a subscription to the Rock Garden Quarterly a quarterly journal with both practical and technical articles on alpine plants, invitations to the NARGS Annual Conference and study weekends, discounts on books through Timber Press, and more. Membership connects you to gardeners worldwide with similar interests and collectively represent a wealth of rock gardening knowledge. Visit their website at www.nargs.org to learn more about them.
